Start Point: Carrier House B&B - 255 N. Main. From the north, take I-40 to Exit 85. Proceed south on US 221 Approx. 20 miles. Start Point will be on the right. From the south, US 74, take Exit 178. Proceed north on US 221 for 5 1/2 miles. Start Point will be on your left. Parking is available in parking lots about 1/2 block on either side of the Start Point.
Event Info: Daily - 8:30 to 6. Closed New Year's, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Savor the sights and sounds of a small North Carolina town. Tour an old cemetery and see houses and churches dating to the 1830s. Enjoy the ambience of the downtown with its shops, restaurants and a great ice cream shop. Traverse a segment of Over the Mountain Victory Trail (OMVT) and a Rails to Trails path. Qualifies for OVMT Award. Surfaces are sidewalks, paved country roads, and gravel on the Rails to Trails.
