Start Point: BiLo Super Market - 828-885-7907. 40 Forest Gate Shopping Center, Pigah Forest, NC 28712. Directions - From I-26 take exit 40 and go south on NC 280 16.2 miles to intersection with US 64 and US 276. Right onto US 276 and then almost immediately right into shopping centerparking lot. "Box" is at customer service desk.
Event Info: Dawn to Dusk, Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Trail is rated 1B, Amble along shaded pathway beside the Davidsion River which includes a portion of the Estatoe Trail, used by Cherokees as a trade route between western NC and SC. Visit unique chapel founded in 1860 by Reverend English to serve Methodist Circuit Riders. Tour the CCC (Now Job Corps) headquarters and training facility. Watch the various activities on the Davidson River such as fly fishing, tubing and enjoying the cool waters.
