Start Point:  Town Hardware and General Store, 828-669-2300.  103 West State St. Black Mountain. Take exit 64 off I-40.  Travel north on NC9 (Broadway St) to intersection of US 70(State St).  Turn west (left) on US 70; start is the first store on your left.  Parking is available throughout the downtown area.

Event Info:  Mon-Sat, 8 to 6; Sun, 1 to 5.  Hours are subject to change.  Call ahead.  Closed New Year's, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Walk along a Greenway and the Swannanoa River, past unique shops and the Red Rocker Inn (historic B&B) and around Lake Tomahawk.  The walk also includes the Oaks, a former religious retreat with its delightful manor, now part of Montreat College.
