Start Point: Asheville Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center, 828-258-6124 or 800-257-1300. 36 Montford Ave., Asheville, N.C. 28801. From the west on I-240 take exit 4C and turn right onto Haywood St. at top of ramp. Turn right onto Montford Ave. (next light), cross bridge and Visitor Center is across the street on the left. From the East on I-240 take exit 4C. Visitor Center is across Montford Ave. to the right at top of ramp.
Event Info: Mon-Fri, 8:30 to 5:30; Sat and Sun, 9 to 5, Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Trail is rated 2, difficult for strollers, not suitable for wheelchairs due to hills. The Visitor Center staff cannot make change or give volksport information. Please pay by check. Walk has been extensively modified. Route is on city streets and sidewalks. Experience the ambiance of a designated "All American City". Walk along portions of the Urban Trail through vibrant art deco downtown. Tour the Grove Arcade and enjoy spectacular views of Asheville.
